The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer for a Fixed Term Contract for our client in Lephalale in Limpopo. We require work experience in commissioning of a process plant.

 

We are looking for 8 years` work experience in Maintenance, Hazard identification, Risk assessment, Procurement, Project Engineering, Design, Erection and Installation, Contract and Project Management, in Heavy Industry.

 

To deliver expert technical support in engineering discipline in projects and to contribute effectively to development of the Groupâ??s business growth and operations.

 

Minimum educational level:                                                      

• BEng Mechanical Engineering Degree
• Government Certificate of Competence: Engineering

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure design for operability and maintainability
• Design in accordance with relevant specifications and proficiency
• Adhere to appropriate quality management systems
• Ensure skills and technology communication to business units
• Ensure that written reports are produced and delivered to client in accordance with Group standards
• Oversee the execution of fit for purpose engineering design
• Support the implementation of design philosophy
• Support technology capabilities involved in project execution and delivery within Engineering discipline
• Ensure compliance to sound engineering standards and quality
• Ensure that latest legislative/Company requirements are adhered to with specific reference to engineering designs
• Ensure a standardised approach to service delivery is followed within discipline
• Ensure compliance to all standards and procedures
• Provide expert technical support and direction to project teams and business units
• Identify needs and support line management with technical issues
• Adhere to the systems and initiatives to drive performance excellence
• Contribute to high-performance teams
• Articulate, adopt, embrace and live the Companyâ??s values
• Adhere to functional policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, end-to-end processes, tools, templates etc.
• Assist in standardising, simplifying and speeding-up functional processes, eliminating duplication/bureaucracy
• Apply functional best practices, promote sharing of best practices and knowledge
• Support the execution of discipline and project strategy
• Comply to metrics and targets for business process structure
• Participate in new fit for purpose discipline specific projects in support of the Groupâ??s strategic objectives
• Ensure recoverable hours across projects
• Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations and practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) policies and procedures in line with set standards
• Encourage and ensure a culture that focuses on safety in all operations
• Ensure compliance to Safety, Health and Environmental legislation during execution of duties
• Ensure design for safety
• Increase awareness of technical advancements to ensure access to appropriate technology to meet business deliverables and can expand technical base to access new areas of business
• Manage cost recovery
• Design for efficiency
• Manage own expenditure
• Manage project capital budget
• Support service delivery within department and project budget parameters
