Senior Microsoft 365 Cloud Service Administrator

SUMMARY:
Our client, an established and rapidly growing IT company based in Cape Town CBD requires a senior Microsoft 365 Cloud Service Administrator to join their dynamic team. As this is a senior, client-facing leadership role, that will manage multiple Microsoft 365 projects simultaneously, it requires the incumbent to combine advanced technical execution with project delivery, team coordination, and strategic consulting. Strong ownership, attention to detail, communication, organisation, and follow-through will be critical to success in this role. .

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 Tenant & Identity Administration

• Deploy, configure and administer Microsoft 365 tenants including licensing, governance and service health monitoring.
• Manage Microsoft Entra ID: incl.

• Monitor and improve Microsoft Secure Score and Compliance Score.
• Conduct tenant posture assessments and access reviews.
• Implement and test business continuity and disaster recovery for Modern Work services.

• Design and manage device management across Windows, macOS, iOS/iPadOS and Android
• Implement:

• Package and deploy applications (Win32, MSIX, Store apps).
• Monitor device health, patch compliance and reporting dashboards.

• Architect and administer SharePoint Online:

• Lead OneDrive rollouts and Known Folder Move projects.
• Oversee Microsoft 365 migrations (file servers, SharePoint, tenant-to-tenant).
• Support governance for Power Platform (Power Automate / Power Apps).
• Exposure to sensitivity labelling and data classification frameworks.

• Perform mailbox migrations from hosted, on-prem and Google environments.
• Manage:

• Implement retention, eDiscovery and litigation hold where required.
• Support hybrid mail routing when applicable.

• Implement and manage:

• Collaborate with security partners on:

• Assist clients with CIS Controls alignment and cybersecurity maturity.
• Exposure to Insider Risk Management and advanced Microsoft Purview capabilities.

• Lead multiple Microsoft 365 projects concurrently from planning through delivery.
• Coordinate internal teams and manage task allocation and timelines.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and to high quality standards.
• Maintain project documentation, runbooks and architecture diagrams.
• Mentor Service Desk and technical staff on Modern Workplace technologies.
• Act as Tier 3 escalation point for Microsoft 365 issues.

• Translate business requirements into Microsoft 365 solutions and roadmaps.
• Provide Modern Workplace consulting and best-practice guidance.
• Conduct regular client review meetings and present
• Build long-term client relationships as a trusted advisor.

• Improve operational efficiency and standardisation of Microsoft 365 deployments.
• Develop reusable templates and deployment standards
• Basic to intermediate scripting using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
• Exposure to Power BI reporting and dashboarding.

• 5+ years working with Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Sharepoint Online and Microsoft Teams
• Experience leading Microsoft 365 projects and migrations.
• Experience working in an MSP or consulting environment preferred.
