Senior Multimodal Freight Estimator - Freight Forwarding

This opportunity requires 5+ years’ experience as an Estimator with strong knowledge of Imports & Exports (Air & Sea Freight) - FULL MULTIMODAL ESTIMATION.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric or equivalent qualification
• Excellent and updated knowledge of INCOTERMS
• Minimum of 5+ years working experience in a similar role in the Freight Industry
• Must have experience in Import/Export (Air & Sea Freight) within an estimator role
• Familiar with Customs Tariffs and Port Charges
• Fully Computer Literate in all MS Office Suite Applications
• Previous working experience on Cargo Wise will be advantageous
• Previous experience in EDI enterprise application will be advantageous
• Strong administration skills
• Analytical and love for numerical problem solving
• Own reliable transport/transport arrangements

Key Performance Areas:

• Registering incoming estimate requests and responding in order of urgency and complexity
• Following up on estimates and measuring success

• Liaise with various clients, shipping lines, Agent, Port Authorities, Customs and Transporters
• Consult with internal departments i.e., Operations, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure accurate follow through of costing and feedback to relevant parties
• Obtain best rates through liaison with various Airlines, Shipping Agents, and Overseas Agents
• Advising clients on viable transport and product option
• Ensure all Imports, Exports and Cost Estimates for Air, Ocean, Road and Over Border Freight are completed timeously and accurately
• Negotiate best terms/pricing for maximum company profitability
• Manage all relevant documentation with regards to containers, breakbulk and LCL cargo
• Report directly to the Procurement Team leader
