Senior Network Engineer (Aruba & FortiGate Specialist) Location: Mbombela, Nelspruit Position Type: Full-Time | On-Site Salary: R60,000 per month

POSITION INFO:

A well-established technology solutions provider is expanding its senior technical capability and is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer with strong Aruba and FortiGate expertise to take ownership of complex client network environments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and supporting enterprise-grade infrastructure for clients across Mpumalanga and nationally. This position requires a technically strong professional who understands network performance, resilience, and security at an advanced level.

Key Responsibilities

This is a senior-level technical role and not a helpdesk position. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Designing and deploying Aruba-based network infrastructure, including switching, wireless networks and VLAN architecture
• Configuring and managing FortiGate firewall environments, including VPNs, policies, SD-WAN and security hardening
• Conducting advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex network issues
• Strengthening network security frameworks and implementing best practices
• Managing multi-site and hybrid network environments
• Providing high-level technical guidance and infrastructure advice to clients
• Mentoring and supporting junior technical staff where required

This role offers a high degree of autonomy and technical responsibility.

Core Technical Requirements

Aruba (Primary Focus)

• Strong experience with Aruba switching and wireless infrastructure
• VLAN design and network segmentation
• Performance optimisation and monitoring
• Implementation of secure network architecture
• Aruba certification advantageous

Firewall & Security

• Proven hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate
• Firewall policy design and management
• Site-to-site and client VPN configuration
• SD-WAN deployment
• Network security best practices and hardening

Minimum requirements:

• 5–10+ years networking experience
• Strong experience with enterprise network design
• Hands-on experience with:

• Aruba switching and wireless networks
• VLAN architecture
• FortiGate firewall configuration
• VPNs and SD-WAN
• Network security and monitoring
• Multi-site network environments

Advantageous Certifications

• Cisco CCNA / CCNP
• CompTIA Network+

Extensive hands-on experience will be highly valued.
