Senior Product & Process Engineer - Flat Wire - Bellville, Cape Town - Salary Market Related About the Opportunity Our client, a market leader in the feed conveying sector, is seeking a high-caliber Senior Product & Process Engineer to take full engineering ownership of their specialized Flat Wire product range . This is a pivotal role where you will directly influence manufacturing capability, lead high-impact capacity expansion projects, and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives from concept to implementation. Key Responsibilities Product Ownership: Take end-to-end engineering responsibility for the Flat Wire product line, ensuring maximum efficiency and process stability. Cost & Yield Optimization: Strategically reduce Cost of Sales (COS) and improve product profitability through smart engineering improvements, alternative raw material qualification, and advanced manufacturing methods. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Design & Automation team to upgrade machinery and implement new technology and collaborate with the Quality team to maintain top-tier customer standards. Production & Capacity Expansion: Analyze production data to eliminate bottlenecks, improve throughput\/product yield, and lead robust capacity expansion projects. Standards & Documentation: Develop, implement, and maintain rigorous process specifications, engineering standards, and manufacturing documentation. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a practical, analytical, and highly collaborative engineer who possesses: Qualifications: A BEng in Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred. Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years of manufacturing experience , with a heavy focus on process engineering and continuous improvement. Project Leadership: Proven experience leading engineering projects from initial concept through to successful shop-floor implementation. Financial Acumen: A demonstrable track record of successfully reducing Cost of Sales (COS) and driving product profitability. Attributes: Strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of machinery and production systems, and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
