Senior Quantity Surveyor

SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial function within a growing construction business.
 
This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional who enjoys leading teams, managing project costs, driving procurement strategies, and ensuring the successful financial delivery of residential and commercial projects.

POSITION INFO:
Job Description: Lead and mentor the Quantity Surveying and Procurement teams Manage estimating, tendering and project cost planning Monitor project budgets, cash flow and financial performance Review valuations, payment certificates and variation claims Oversee procurement activities and supplier performance Administer JBCC contracts and manage commercial risk Drive value engineering and cost-saving initiatives Work closely with project teams to maximise project profitability Improve commercial processes and reporting systems Skills & Experience: Minimum 8+ years' Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry Previous experience managing or leading commercial\/QS teams Strong knowledge of estimating, cost control, procurement and contract administration Advanced experience using Candy (CCS) Experience working with JBCC contracts Knowledge of Xero, ApprovalMax or similar financial systems is advantageous Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills Qualification: BSc, BTech or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management Professional registration with SACQSP is advantageous Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered Connect with us on and Register your CV to create a profile and to view all our Engineering recruitment vacancies.
