Manage project costs to achieve agreed levels of margin and profit while still achieving the required standards for time, quality and service
|
- Review preliminary budget with Project Manager prior to commencement of project to develop a strategy for delivery that will protect, maintain/enhance the project’s margin position
- Establish and maintain commercially sound financial and management reporting systems for the project
- Ensure all staff have the financial and project management information they require to deliver projects within contractual requirements
- Manage project margins and ensure established financial budgets for projects are met
- Ensure progress claims and variation accounts are correctly certified and paid to enhance project cash flow
- Provide complete payment progress claims to the client and/or client representative including statement of project’s financial status to date and projection to completion
- Provide reports and pricing information to the client in relation to project activities, time and resource usage
- Manage debtors proactively
- Attend project meetings to communicate project-specific financial information
- Establish and manage petty cash system and purchase order usage on site ensuring appropriate authorisation in place
- Prepare final accounts.

Contractor and supplier management
|
- Make contractually and commercially prudent subcontractor and supplier subletting selections without compromising company/project quality and safety requirements in accordance with trade letting schedule/programme and within individual authority levels
- Pay subcontractor and supplier invoices in accordance with contractual, company and statutory requirements
- Negotiate, document and ensure sign-off of variations with clients, consultants, subcontractors and/or suppliers prior to implementation
- Provide commercial contracts to consultants, subcontractors and suppliers that are signed, prior to commencement of work on site, to enable disputes to be resolved promptly
- Proactively work to resolve disputes and claims with clients, consultants, subcontractors and/or suppliers so as not to unreasonably impact on project closure
- Maintain a project Disputes Register
- Understand terms and conditions of the Head Contract and all subcontractor and suppliers contracts including what has been clarified or excluded, ensuring payments are made in accordance with them
- Write clear and concise Notice to Subcontractors (NTS) and Notice to Consultants (NTC) as required and ensure that all contract instructions’ numbers are appropriately referenced.
- Quality of subcontractor and supplier subletting selections
- Compliance with subcontractor payment policies and contractual requirements
- NTS’s and NTC’s completed and issued correctly
- Stakeholder contractual issues are negotiated / mediated in a timely manner

Procurement and Risk Management
|
- Collect and understand the procurement information and requests from project teams including construction delivery, BIM, Design and etc.
- Use above information, prepare an accurate and timely procurement package and present it to contractor/suppliers for pricing and understand the scope.
- Manage and reduce unnecessary variations of contracts.
- Ensure the project commercial risks (such as cost not recovered, warranty and any relevant commercial risk) are actively managed with the risk control framework.
- Assist the Commercial Manager with the development and implementation of Project Commercial Risk Control Framework.
- Accurate project procurement scope is defined.
- Variation of contracts are managed, and unnecessary variations are minimized
- Rick management in line with the rick control framework

Administration and reporting
|
- Establish and maintain project systems, structures and processes that ensure all documentation is effectively stored and maintained in an easily retrievable manner that meets all statutory, company and operational requirements
- Ensure all invoices received are promptly signed off, approved and returned to the accounts department for processing prior to cut-off
- Ensure that by the conclusion of the project, the client and/or client representative has received all relevant warranty and guarantee documents.
- Project documentation compliance
