Senior Reference and Master Data Management Specialist

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading organisation within the financial services industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Reference and Master Data Management Specialist to join their team on an 18-month contract. This role forms part of a strategic, multi-year transformation programme aimed at modernising the organisation’s back-office capabilities, with a specific focus on supporting the ERP Roadmap and EPM Cloud Solution Project.

The successful candidate will form part of a project team that will provide dedicated data quality and data management services, helping to define trusted, well-governed reference and master data solutions that enable improved decision-making, operational efficiency, and business optimisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior data management professional who can bridge the gap between business and information management, translate business needs into practical data management solution requirements, and support the development of innovative, integrated and sustainable data practices across the organisation.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Management or equivalent
• A minimum of five to eight years' experience in a data management environment

• Defining and documenting reference data and master data requirements across business data domains
• Developing business rules, measurements, and metrics to support accurate and trusted critical business information
• Establishing an authoritative source of truth to support effective decision-making and operational efficiency
• Defining and managing master data relationships, hierarchies, structures, and entity views
• Supporting integrated data views and advanced analytics through effective master data management practices
• Implementing standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures for reference data and master data management
• Defining and applying data matching, merging, cleansing, and standardisation rules to enable a single version of the truth
• Creating, maintaining, managing, and integrating reference data and master data environments
• Developing and maintaining data taxonomies, data catalogues, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories
• Monitoring, measuring, remediating, and reporting on reference and master data quality metrics
• Identifying data quality issues, areas of non-conformance, and opportunities for improvement
• Developing, managing, and maintaining reference data and master data repositories across organisational data domains
• Contributing to the development of reference and master data standards, frameworks, and standard operating procedures
• Implementing governance controls to ensure reference and master data is properly maintained, controlled, and managed
• Working with business and technical stakeholders to promote effective reference and master data management practices across the organisation
• Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to support data governance, data quality, and data management objectives
