Purpose

The purpose of the Rewards Buying Insights Manager role is to leverage company’s rich rewards programme data assets to provide meaningful and actionable insights that enables the Foods Buying team to make sound commercial decisions. The role retrieves, codes and analyses customer, market and transactional data to produce insights, predictions, reports and recommendations that advises the Foods Buying team on potential opportunities while supporting long-term trading strategies. The Rewards Buying Insights Manager is an integral part of the Foods Buying team, applying their knowledge of data, data structures and analytical tools along with their understanding of customer, shopper and commercial insights to derive meaning and value for the business.

Role Description

  • Own and execute end-to-end insights development including data analysis, recommendations and preparation of integrated results for internal business stakeholders.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand and correctly frame analysis requirements and questions and propose data led solutions that are commercially actionable.
  • Correctly apply the optimal coding and analysis method(s) to address business needs.
  • Build operational dashboards and reports for management that are compelling, clear and concise.
  • Monitor existing metrics, develop new metrics, and identify actionable risk signals.
  • Create and maintain data visualizations that inform stakeholders on key metrics.
  • Analyse and understand customer shopping habits and trends and provide recommended actions to reward shopping behaviours.
  • Provide recommendations on organisation health metrics based on data trends.
  • Investigate promotional performance and provide actionable insights.
  • Perform complex data analysis across multiple systems to support both scheduled and ad-hoc reporting requests.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to use reward data to drive increased revenue.
  • Collaborate across teams and functions to fully leverage data, address business opportunities and elevate insights integration for brand tactics and strategies.
  • Leverage best practices and identify potential efficiencies in the work of the Foods Buying Insight team, and contribute towards streamlining, and improving the quality of processes.

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Business, Information Technology or a related field – (essential).
  • +4 years’ experience in a similar data analytics capacity or role, with proven experience working with FMCG brands, category, shopper or retail insights to support business decision-making – (essential).
  • Solid knowledge and experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) – (essential).
  • Experience working with SQL and manipulating large data sets – (essential).
  • Strong knowledge and experience with data coding and coding systems – (essential).
  • Business acumen with an understanding of how data is leveraged in a retail environment – (essential).
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office 365 with an advanced level of Excel skill – (essential).

  • Results-driven and organised - Proactively drives results, sets stretch goals for self, remains focused, manages time and deadlines efficiently while working tenaciously toward meeting and exceeding expectations within quality standards.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills - Able to communicate effectively, converting complex concepts into simple, well-articulated and compelling messages.
  • Able to work under pressure while managing ambiguity, adapting as the business evolves and balancing competing demands and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Is curious and maintains accurate, up-to-date knowledge on data analytics and research techniques and applications.
