POSITION INFO:

Senior Risk Consultant

Job Purpose/Role: Responsible for providing loss control expertise, support and assistance to the company and its customers, to assist the company underwriting in risk selection and retention. Provide on-going co ordination and monitoring of the loss control

Senior Risk Engineer

Job Purpose/Role:  Provision of technical support and risk analysis services to Engineering Underwriters and Clients. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with Underwriting, Market Management,

Communications, Claims, clients and brokers

Key Responsibilities

• Risk Assessments: Complete desk top reviews and risk assessments (pre & post loss) for underwriting evaluating and summarising exposures and controls.
• Consulting Services: Work with underwriting, claims, the client and the broker where appropriate to develop customised loss control programmes including locations to be surveyed (or included as part of continuing service), scope and cost of risk consulting services.
• Services Guidance: Generate and review required reports and recommendations. Meet reporting deadlines in accordance with departmental performance objectives.
• Survey Analysis: Survey client operations obtain appropriate data, identify hazards, discuss findings with appropriate parties. Generate loss control reports, recommendations etc. 3rd Party Support: Appoint / monitor 3^rd parties ensuring adequate contract / controls in place with budgets agreed up front. Check and ensure quality of work provided by 3rd parties.

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

• Risk engineering background of 6 years or more.
• Bachelors degree in an Chemical, Mechanical or Fire Engineering discipline.(Bachelor’s degree in related field will be considered in conjunction with extensive technical experience) OR

Bachelors degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering Demonstrable engineering/technical expertise with power generation. Mining experience would be an advantage  OR

Bachelors degree in Civil/Structural Engineer

• Knowledge of the NFPA , FM Global, VDS and ASIB design standards to assist with design reviews for national and international standards
• Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards.
• Commitment to maintaining knowledge of developments and new technologies infield.
• Ability to analyse highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire.
• Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally.
• Analysis of logistical concepts and production value chains e.g. supply chain, dependency mapping, etc would be an advantage analysis of industrial engineering aspects, process and mechanical analysis/review e.g. FMEA, PSM, structural and mechanical integrity analysis, condition based maintenance etc. would be an advantage
