Senior SAP BTP Developer

We are looking for a Senior SAP BTP Developer to join our financial services client based in Sandton on a hybrid arrangement.
 
The Senior SAP BTP Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure applications using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services.
This role involves solution design, systems analysis, technical implementation, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met through innovative SAP cloud technologies.

POSITION INFO:
What you will be doing:

• Apply SAP specialisation and technical expertise within projects under minimal direction to meet customer business needs.
• Interact with stakeholders to define requirements, establish priorities, and ensure alignment between business and technical teams.
• Design, develop, and deploy applications using SAP BTP services such as CAP, Workflow, Business Rules, API Management, and Integration Suite.
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions following BTP development frameworks and best practices.
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to translate business requirements into robust technical designs.
• Perform systems analysis, solution design, and technical development across SAP environments.
• Optimize application performance and ensure proper logging, monitoring, and error handling.
• Maintain technical documentation and support testing cycles, including unit, end-to-end, and regression testing.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within SAP cloud environments.
• Stay current with SAP cloud technologies and recommend improvements for system performance, efficiency, and scalability.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of SAP development experience, with at least 3 years focused on SAP BTP.
• Strong proficiency in SAP BTP development technologies (CAP, Node.js, Java, OData, CDS).
• Experience with SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) and multi-target applications (MTA).
• Familiarity with integration concepts (CPI, APIs) advantageous.
• Solid understanding of SAP cloud architecture, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Agile delivery experience and strong problem-solving skills
