The Senior Specialist Automation role is based within Commercial Operations.

The Digital Tribe team is responsible for designing and deploying digitized and automated business processes and across all of Client Customer Operations channels. This is part of the Robotics Process Automation and Internal Chatbot squad. The purpose of the role is to ensure that through automation, Client delivers an unmatched customer experience, reduces cost to service, reduces churn and drives revenue across multiple lines of business.

This role requires experience with automation tools and methodologies, working in an agile, collaborative team, and working with other Vodafone operating companies to align, comply and implemented automation. The role is core to delivering exceptional customer experience across our lines of business and will have a direct influence on the headline Key Performance Indicators and efficiency metrics.

The Software Engineer is responsible for creating prototypes, designing, and building modules and solutions in an iterative agile cycle, develop, maintain, and optimize the business outcome.

This role is responsible for estimating user and technical stories, designing, and developing code, writing, and executing unit and integration tests, and supporting testing of deliverables against user and technical story acceptance tests. The incumbent is responsible for performing peer reviews, collaborating with architects and other developers to produce “just enough” design, and ensuring that enough technical documentation and training is provided for reference and operational support. This role is responsible for providing software-related operations support, including managing level two and level three incident and problem management.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Automation
• Follow the preferred / prescribed design approach and guidelines for journeys and process across all lines of business
• Ensure governance
• Act as a technical liaison between business and the technical delivery team
• Ensure automated processes are built once and used multiple times across the business Software Engineering
• Estimate user and technical stories to help inform and prioritize backlog
• Develop solutions according to module designs and deploy using delivery pipeline
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests; support testing against user and technical story acceptance tests
• Suggest improvements to automation designs
• Manage technical debt as part of daily activities
• Conduct peer reviews and maintain coding standards
• Manage incidents as level two and level three support l Manage problems as level two and level three support
• NLU / Data Science
• Understanding of machine learning models and recommendation systems for various areas of the business on the Big Data Platform, and integration with Robotics Process Automation and Chatbot
• Performance Tracking & Improvement
• Continuous monitoring of performance of automation against Key Performance Indicators and other efficiency metrics
• Use these insights to inform design improvements
• Automation strategy and people leadership
• Align to, drive, and cascade the Client / Vodafone strategy
• Create a people first culture that encourages alignment, sharing of knowledge, upskilling and drive the Client spirit behaviours.
• Remove obstacles for team members, ensure adequate planning and resource allocation.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• RPA UiPath understanding l LUIS and Azure Chatbot understanding
• Multiple programming languages l Complex business analysis cases l Business Intelligence technical environment l Technology / Industry trends l Business analysis methods l Application functionality l Data analysis l Change control procedures l Agile way of work

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• Matric / Grade 12 essential
• 3-year Degree / diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science
• Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or related or other related field essential
• 5+ Years programming and/or systems analysis applying agile frameworks, business analysis, systems analysis, data analysis experience preferably in a highly complex development environment essential
• Experience in Robotics Process Automation and or Chatbot design
• Experience working with multiple programming languages
• Experience working with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, LSD, and FDD
• Experience with Containerization, such as Docker / Kubernetes / OpenShift.
• Expertise in multiple programming languages, such as C#/VB.NET, Node.js, Java, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, and Python
• Knowledge of data manipulation: use of structured data tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas), and/or big data tools and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL)
• Leadership skills essential
