Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist in Insurance Risk & Compliance to join their short-term insurance division. This role is ideal for a compliance professional with a sharp eye for detail and a strong understanding of the insurance regulatory landscape. You’ll play a key role in embedding compliance frameworks, assessing risk, and supporting the development of a strong regulatory culture across the insurance business. Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain compliance frameworks aligned with short-term insurance regulations
• Conduct analysis on regulatory changes and ensure proper integration into business processes
• Evaluate existing controls and document risk mitigation plans
• Collaborate with internal teams and third-party service providers to assess and enhance compliance
• Analyse complaint trends and regulatory risks, reporting insights to senior stakeholders
• Develop compliance awareness content and assist with training rollouts
• Liaise with external regulatory bodies including the FSCA, SARB, and industry ombuds

Key Requirements

• 3-year Degree or National Diploma in BCom, LLB, BA Law, or related field (essential)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in risk and compliance within the insurance sector
• Strong understanding of Short-Term Insurance Act, Insurance Act, PoPIA, FIC Act, and related legislation
• Proven ability to translate complex regulations into practical business policies
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Experience with complaints analysis, report drafting, and monitoring frameworks
