POSITION INFO:

Our client, a Global leader in the Software Development Retail Industry is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a dynamic Senior Strategic Supply Chain Manager with proven experience to drive process improvements and thought leadership in inventory planning and operations for their network based in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• At minimum a bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience.
• Extensive experience working with complex data sets.
• Be able to demonstrate solidly grounded experience delivering results by partnering with and influencing others.
• Possess working knowledge of statistics or other analytical techniques.
• Have experience with SQL.
• Must be able to lead and influence both internal and external teams in an ambiguous environment while maintaining a customer-centric philosophy.
• Must be highly organized and possess strong data extraction and analytical capabilities.
• Have working knowledge in fundamental business principles and previous relevant experience.
• Capable of Identifying and delivering operational improvement opportunities around buying and demand planning.
• Must be able to monitor and identify opportunities to improve key supply chain metrics such as Out of Stock rate, Overstock Rate, Total Inbound Lead Time, Delivery Speed, Confirmation and Order Fill Rates.
• Must be able to share supply chain insights and contribute to business reviews for Senior Leadership (verbal and written).
• Must be able to identify opportunities to optimize supply chain cost structure and profitability through vendor engagement, project management, and collaboration with partner teams on system improvements.
• Must be able to self-manage competing priorities, driving both strategic and tactical activities,
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the formulation and implementation of inventory management strategies of a team of Supply Chain Managers to maximize customer experience, sales, margin and turns, as well as end-to-end business ownership of all supply chain processes from manufacturer to consumer.
• This team will use data to influence others and build scalable systems & processes, rather than just addressing single issues.
• They will play a critical role in delivering the optimal customer experience by ensuring we have the right product quantities, in the right places, at the right time.
• To achieve this mission, the team of Supply Chain Managers will work to continuously optimise the end-to-end supply chain by engaging with vendors to improve operational metrics and driving system and process automation with internal teams.
