SUMMARY:
We’re looking for Senior Technical Accountants who live and breathe IFRS, thrive in complexity, and want to play a key role in shaping financial reporting at a high-impact level within the insurance world. We don’t just report the numbers, we explain them. We own them.

POSITION INFO:
Senior Technical Accountant - JHB North

Responsibilities:

Own the interpretation and implementation of complex insurance accounting standards (e.g. IFRS 17, IFRS 9)
Be the go-to expert for technical queries across finance, audit, and regulatory teams
Lead technical accounting papers, policies, and internal training
Support financial reporting, disclosures, and audits with top-tier precision
Partner with actuaries, finance, and risk to deliver compliant and insightful reporting

Requirements:

CA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
In-depth knowledge of insurance accounting and regulatory frameworks
Proven experience with IFRS 17, IFRS 9, and Solvency II
Attention to detail, critical thinking, and confident communication skills
A mindset that sees compliance as a foundation — not a ceiling
