JOB SUMMARY:
A well-established Animal Feed Company conducting specialised animal feeds analyses for a variety of Customers within the animal feeds industry requires the above to manage the day-to-day functions and oversee and provide accurate results to Customers regarding a range of animal feed products in the market.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:

A BSc degree in Chemistry or Animal Nutrition or related degree is essential. A postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
Previous experience having worked as an Animal Feed Analyst or Animal Nutritionist or in a similar role within a feeds laboratory or related is essential for the role.
Must have a sound understanding of chemistry principles and related calculations.
Mus have the ability to display analytical and innovative thinking.
Must have strong communication skills as well as strong computer skills especially in Excel.
Knowledge of a variety of analytical equipment will be advantageous.
Must have previous experience working with ISO 17025.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Managing the day-to-day laboratory activities and overseeing and analysing a variety of animal feed products in the animal feed industry.
Providing technical support or explanation, when required, to laboratory staff including problem solving on instruments and analytical methods.
Overseeing, managing and coordinating all analysis within the laboratory.
Liaising with the Operations and General Managers on all matters regarding testing within the laboratory.
Ensuring quality standards are maintained in all respects and the implementation of internal controls.
Conducting trend analysis and identified actions, with regard to testing activities.
Improving testing and quality activities.
Identifying training needs and ensuring staff competence.
Checking test results and authorising test reports.
Training personnel in analytical methods and instrument maintenance and calibration, when required.
Protecting sample integrity throughout its life in the laboratory.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
