A leading specialist insurer is seeking a Senior Underwriter - Fuel to join a high-performing and innovative Trade Guarantee team. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded professional who enjoys financial analysis, relationship management, business development, and making sound credit decisions in a dynamic environment. About the Role The successful candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, assess and manage risk, build strong stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the business. This role requires a well-rounded individual who is comfortable analysing financial statements, engaging with clients and brokers, and identifying opportunities within the market. Key Responsibilities: Analyse financial statements and conduct underwriting assessments. Manage and grow a portfolio of clients. Make informed underwriting and credit decisions. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and beneficiaries. Monitor and manage ongoing risk exposures. Stay abreast of industry developments, regulations, and market trends. Identify business development opportunities within your portfolio. Support digitisation and automation initiatives. Contribute broadly to team objectives and strategic projects. Minimum Requirements: BCom degree. Minimum 10 years' experience in financial services and\/or the fuel industry. Strong financial statement analysis skills. Proven client relationship management experience. Valid driver's licence. Advantageous: Experience in guarantees or trade guarantee products. Fuel industry experience. Business development experience. FAIS compliance and RE5 qualification. Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities. Sound commercial and business acumen. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-driven. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Comfortable working in a technology-enabled environment. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Collaborative team player with an entrepreneurial mindset.
