QUALIFICATIONS:

• A portfolio of past work showcasing editing skills.
• Grade 12/Matric.
• Tertiary Education is advantageous (Relevant qualification in Video Editing).

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• 5-10 years’ experience in video editing.
• Knowledge/understanding of storytelling principles.
• Knowledge of full video production processes.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Well-developed storytelling skills.
• Excellent editing skills. (Adobe suite).
• Able to show creativity on screen.
• Relate well to people and show evidence of good teamwork.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Aligns the edit with the Director’s vision (working with the Director).
• Tells a creative, compelling story on the timeline (Editing).
• Working with audio in the edit and working with an Audio Engineer to enhance the story with music and sound design.
• Grading the edit to enhance the look of the video and help drive the story.
• Combining graphics and text into the edit. (After Effects experience is advantageous).
