POSITION INFO:

Senior Water Design Engineer (WIIG) (POS24273)

Rosebank

R1,5 mill per annum

Core Purpose:

• Project leader/task leader for consulting engineering in water and sanitation related to engineering projects.
• Tasks include planning, design, tender, construction monitoring of projects as well as general responsibilities with respect to marking, proposals and management of staff.
• Working with Senior Site Staff to manage Project Administration and resolve technical issues arising on large multidisciplinary, multi-contract bulk water projects

Requirements:

• Degree - PrEng Civil (Essential)
• Professionally registered with SCAPCMP (an advantage)
• Bulk Water and Sanitation Infrastructure Design experience is a pre-requisite

Duties:

• Programme work and set productivity targets in discussion with the Project Manager.
• Obtain and confirm acceptance of appointments in writing.
• Prepare time/cost estimates for clients on projects.
• Plan and monitor progress of projects.
• Manage and Perform design work as required.
• Prepare project reports, specifications, minutes, correspondence.
• Control the quality and productivity of work done.
• Attend meetings with clients.
• Ensure that specific client and project requirement are implemented.
• Obtain and confirm detailed project briefs and prepare budgets.
• Compile report and bids.
• Ensure Construction Works are built to specifications.
• Ensure quality of work is to acceptable standards.
• Ensure accurate as-built records.
• Assist with the Professional registration of junior staff.
• Ensure conformance of the proposal to the client’s requirements.
• Review documents prepared by junior staff.
• Manage project budgets in conjunction with the Project Manager.
• Management of project quality.
• Identify and secure new clients.
• Prepare and Review Technical Contract Documents.
• Prepare and Review Technical Design & documentation of projects involving the conveyance and treatment of both Water and Wastewater and associated technologies (e.g. water distribution, pump stations, pipelines and treatment plants)
