Key performance areas:
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
Financial planning and analysis
- Prepare monthly management accounts per site, analyzing cost per activity/production process.
- Monitor actual performance vs budget and prior year, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with site operations to prepare weekly, quarterly, and rolling forecasts.
- Upload forecasts and actuals into Hyperion Planning (HP).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual results presentations with variance analysis.
- Maintain and update cash flow reports, including AR collections and Capex projections.
- Daily monitoring and reporting on production and cost metrics.
Financial accounting
- Complete the monthly tasks for both Middelburg sites
- Oversee monthly financial close for both Middelburg sites.
- Validate customer deliveries and invoices; approve ERP entries.
- Prepare expense accruals and journal entries.
- Ensure accurate receipting and follow up on pending goods.
- Perform month-end reconciliations (expenses, stock, capex, FAR, AR, bank, IC, payroll, etc.).
- Coordinate inter-company invoicing and reconciliations.
- Prepare VAT calculations and submissions (VAT201), and other statutory reports (e.g., STATS SA).
- Support SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Assist with HFM uploads and commentary.
- Conduct inventory counts and capex reconciliations.
- Review and load supplier payments, including international transactions.
- Lead internal and external audit preparations.
Strategic & Operational Support
- Partner with operations and commercial teams to evaluate strategies and profitability.
- Support senior management with financial insights for top-line strategy decisions.
- Resolve SARS queries and support ad hoc financial tasks.

Qualifications/Experience Required:
• Degree / Honours or CA (SA), CIMA
• Minimum of 2 (CA (SA) or CIMA) or 3 years (Degree/Honours) commercial experience
• IFRS/US GAAP
• Should ideally have worked for a multinational company
• Must have forecast building and controlling experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• ERP experience advantageous (JD Edwards, Oracle, Hyperion)
• Strong financial, commercial and analytical skills
• People management experience
• Strong personality, able to work with senior level management and operations
• The ability to work in a pressured environment
• Compiling and presenting reports, budgets, business plans
• Valid driver’s license
