SUMMARY:
Site Engineer
Location: Johannesburg, with traveling to sites.

Our client is seeking a hands-on Site Engineer to drive the successful installation, support, and integration of our systems at customer mining operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring reliable and safe technology operations in some of the most demanding environments.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software (React), and networking equipment on client sites.
Conduct site assessments and ensure readiness for system deployments.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across hardware, networks, and applications.
Integrate on-site systems with cloud-hosted services (AWS, SQL Server).
Provide training and first-line support to client staff on platforms.
Ensure compliance with safety and mining industry regulations.
Document installations, configurations, and incident reports.
Collaborate with product teams to provide feedback and recommend improvements.

Requirements

3–5 years’ experience as Site Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar.
Strong skills in hardware installation, networking, and systems integration.
Knowledge of Windows/Linux environments and SQL Server.
Familiarity with industrial IoT devices, telemetry, or mining systems (advantageous).
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially under pressure.
Ability to work independently on client sites, often in remote locations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client engagement.
Relevant technical qualifications (Engineering, Networking, IT).
Understanding of React for software applications.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of industrial automation and OT systems.
Familiarity with mobile and edge computing environments.
Experience working on mining or industrial project sites.
Health and safety training/certification (e.g., SAMTRAC).
