Site Engineer - Building and Construction

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing a designated section of the project, including planning, quality, programme, cost control, and HSE performance
• Coordinating site activities and subcontractors to meet programme deadlines
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, subcontractors, and consultants
• Providing accurate and regular progress and programme updates
• Resolving site issues and disputes efficiently and professionally
• Leading, supervising, and motivating site teams to achieve high performance
• Ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and policies
• Monitoring and reporting on safety performance against set targets
• Raising, tracking, and managing RFIs and maintaining an up-to-date RFI schedule
• Interpreting construction drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution

• Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Building Science, or related field
• Professional registration with ECSA or SACPCMP will be advantageous

• 3–5 years’ experience in construction or civil engineering environments
• Working knowledge of Buildsmart and CCS planning modules
• Sound understanding of contract conditions (e.g. JBCC, FIDIC, GCC, NEC)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-driven environment

• Valid driver’s licence
• Must be a South African citizen
