SUMMARY:
To manage the total Engineering Function and meet manufacturing targets.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications & Experience

Degree or Diploma (Mechanical/Industrial) at NQF 6 level
Government Certificate of Competency – GCC Factories
5-10 years’ experience in a FMCG Environment with knowledge of food manufacturing processes
Must have the expertise to lead maintenance personnel in solving electrical, mechanical and related problems on the shop floor
Must have knowledge and expertise to align the engineering function with manufacturing and technical requirements

Key attributes and competencies

Ability to lead and manage projects
Thorough knowledge of OSHACT
Ability to work in a highly pressurised environment
Negotiation skills and problem-solving ability
Ability to identify and establish future equipment technology requirements

Computer Literacy

Sound knowledge preventative maintenance systems

Key Responsibilities

Individual must be on site and be responsible GMR 2(1) for the site
Design and maintenance of Policies, Procedures and systems
Plant and equipment compliant to OSHACT
Manage Capex Projects
Manage the Operational Engineering Function
Provide support and advice to Operational processes
Manage Productivity through automation
Stay abreast of new technology
Ensure efficient processing through continuous improvement projects
Coordinate training programs for the engineering function to ensure growth in technical expertise through an internal feeder scheme
Implement equipment purchasing policy

Implement Manufacturing Excellence Customs and Practices (TPM)
