POSITION INFO:

The SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER is responsible for using various social networks and digital marketing channels, as well as in-person networking, to effectively manage, engage and grow a brand’s community, both on and offline, in a way the drives sustainable awareness and sales for the brand.Â

Job Knowledge:

The Social Media Manager must have proven and demonstrable knowledge and understanding of various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Spotify, YouTube, Pinterest etc.) and how best each platform can be deployed in different scenarios to drive ROI for the business.

Job skills must include:

• Excellent copywriting skills and attention to detail
• In depth knowledge and ability to run geo-targeted social media campaigns
• Hands-on experience in content and community management
• Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
• Working knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
• Knowledge of online marketing channels
• Outgoing personality, with excellent communication and organisation skills
• Sound analytical and reporting skills
• Ability to work in a high- pressure environment, handle numerous projects at one time, and meet fast turnaround deadlines
• Being proactive, with the ability to work independently, and also in a team, with the confidence to provide guidance to social media and marketing team members, and other co-workers, on social media implementation best practices and strategies
• Ability to manage the agencies social media presence, ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement

Beneficial additional skills:

• An understanding of how location-based services can be used to drive brand awareness
• Working knowledge of Meltwater or other listening tools

Job Experience:

Proven work experience of between 3-4 years in managing social media platforms or communities for brands will be desirable.

Education:

An undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business and/or related fields will be required.
