We’re hiring a Solar Design Engineer to join our client's team!

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with sales and customer-facing teams to understand customer needs, budget constraints, and energy objectives.
Design solar PV systems (residential, commercial, or agricultural) that are cost-effective, efficient, and precisely aligned to customer requirements.
Perform accurate site assessments, shading analysis, and energy yield simulations using specialized software (e.g. PVsyst, Helioscope).
Create clear and concise system layouts, electrical single-line diagrams, and detailed specifications.
Work with procurement teams to select cost-effective, reliable components (panels, inverters, batteries) that maximise customer value.
Present and explain design solutions clearly to customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring confidence and alignment.
Ensure all designs meet regulatory compliance and safety standards without unnecessary over-specification.
Support sales proposals and tenders by providing optimised technical information and practical guidance.
Continuously analyse previous projects to identify opportunities for improving design practices and cost efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related discipline.
3+ years of experience in solar PV system design, specifically in commercial EPC environments.
Proven track record designing systems that effectively address customer needs and budget.
Strong proficiency in design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
Understanding of relevant local electrical standards, grid connection regulations, and solar industry best practices.
Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into technically sound and commercially viable solutions.
