Solutions Architect

POSITION INFO:

Our Client a Global Tech firm is seeking 3 Solutions Architect to join their team in Cape town on a 12 month contract. They offer stability, competitive rates, growth and an excellent working environment.

As a Solution Architect, you''ll be responsible for leading the delivery of solutions in your area of expertise. Your role will require that you conduct research into existing technologies and determine their applicability to our business needs. You''ll then use this information to develop bespoke software applications or provide solutions based on off-the-shelf products. You''ll work closely with other members of the team to ensure that each project is delivered successfully. Your work may involve identifying appropriate off-the-shelf software products, understanding how they can be adapted for our purposes, and developing these new tools using either an in-house developed product or commercial off-the-shelf tools such as Java EE, .NET, or SAP/ERP depending on budget constraints, etc.

Requirements

• Oracle exposure is essential (not as a skill but experience).
• Understanding the application portfolio landscape
• Working closely with Development and Enterprise Architecture teams for solution design, architecture and application alignment;
• Providing solutions architecture guidance to various application development teams;
• Conducting interviews with key role-players within the various departments to further understand their business processes, needs and challenges; Conducting feasibility studies;
• Preparing business cases and conducting an initial risk assessment; Conducting solution assessments and validation;
• Conducting presentations of the deliverables for playback to the relevant departmental unit;
• Conducting playback sessions with the relevant departmental unit to ensure that the information extracted from the business documents and through the interview process are correct;
• Producing a detailed functional design document to match customer requirements;
• Producing process flow analysis and process redesign documents; Sharing best practices and being consultative to teams and clients;
• Collaborating with Technical Architects, Technology Managers and/or Application Development Managers to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements;
• Providing current best practice and third party solution alternatives as part of the functional design document in alignment with Client standards and application portfolio roadmaps;
• Participating in and leading, when needed, project meetings with the relevant client departments; and
• Participating in internal projects as required.

Qualifications

• One or more tertiary qualification(s) issued by a registered tertiary institution that is/are relevant to the role of the Solutions Architect (as defined in section 3.2 above); OR
• One or more industry accredited course credential(s) that is/are relevant to the role of the Solutions Architect (as defined in section 3.2 above), including, but not limited to, TOGAF certification or similar; AND
• A minimum of 5 (five) years experience in a Solutions Architect(as defined in section 3.2 above) or equivalent role working or consulting within large enterprises (being enterprises/organizations with at least 1,000 users) on tasks or projects requiring Oracle solutions and custom development, as well as cloud solutions, cloud services, and cloud development.
