Specialist: Trade Control Middle Office

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Oversight of trade capture processes to ensure all trades are booked timely and
accurate processing and settlement of all transactions, across all asset classes
(specifically but not limited to derivatives, equities and structured trades). This
includes establishing pre and post trade controls.
- Investigating and resolving position breaks across multiple reconciliations and systems
- Working closely with the front, back offices, custodians, risk , product control and
other stakeholders to resolve breaks.
- Perform root cause analysis on breaks to identify the cause, increase STP rate and
mitigate the risk of breaks reoccurring.
- Appropriate and timely escalation and reporting of any pertinent issues
- Trade validation and Ongoing trade maintenance
- Onboarding and set up processes for new trades. Opening of accounts and reference
data maintenance in BDA
- Managing trade life cycle events such as resets, expires and corporate actions.
- Supporting the Trading Desk in a timely and accurate manner
- Supporting the business in new deal approvals and formulation of target operating
models for new deals. Liases with IT and stakeholders to facilitate new trades
- Review and document processes for new and existing deals
- Carrying out project work which could include operationalize new regulation, Root
Cause Analysis, Risk Control Self Assessments, Training materials and transaction
reviews
- Manage Daily JSE Capital Adequacy process (CAPAD). Monitoring, preparation and
submission.

Qualifications
- Post graduate qualification in Finance/Business Science
Experience 3-5 years' experience in an investment banking / Treasury/trading environment, specifically in middle office trade support, or equivalent role

Knowledge
-Extensive understanding of OTC Derivative instruments / Exchange Traded Derivatives / Fixed
Income Securities / Equity products
-Exposure to trade settlement processes (OTC derivatives and exchange settled trades will be
beneficial
