JOB SUMMARY:
An International Mining Company has a contract vacancy for 2X Starlims Support Specialist. The purpose of Global Information Management (IM) is to enable the delivery of business processes, communication, collaboration and knowledge management through the deployment, support and maintenance of enterprise technology, infrastructure and applications.

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience (Postgraduate)
Min 3-5 years of application management experiencing
Starlims Scripting Language (SSL), Jscript, PL/SQL, Oracle/SQLServer
Project Management Experience

The Starlims Support Specialist will be responsible for service strategy design, transition, operational and continuous Improvement of all instances with EMEA Reginal Hub Support i.e. Weighbridge, Sample Preparation, Quality Assurance and Laboratory Services( Traditional and Robotics)

To be a PRODUCT specialist, across the range of Starlims’ modules
To develop, configure and support simple/complex system functionality based on Business Stakeholder’s requirements.
Responsible for successful UAT and SAT of upgrades irrespective of Software enhancements, bug fixes and or Configuration changes, aligned with OT Release Governance protocols.
To be responsible for the 2nd and 3rd line support functions/processes for all Starlims instances.
For INTEGRATION to and from the Scada Systems, instruments and other systems
Problem solving, identify gaps/preventative measures to be incorporated preventing re-occurrence thereof. This will include registering all incidents and relevant remedies/learnings. Incidents to be classified as either a
- People issue (require additional training)
- Process issue (where process deemed having a gap, to inform relevant stakeholder thereof to update procedure and training material to include preventing re-occurrences) or
- Product incident, which can be either a Configuration change or product enhancement, to follow the required process for resolution till the issue is resolved. Responsible for constant communication with Incident logger and where required informing the relevant Stake Holder.
To document instance Specific designs, rules, integrations etc
Perform standby duties for escalated incidents after hours.
Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
To participate in the requirements analysis process with client stakeholders
To train Junior Support Analysts
