We don’t hire ordinary—we’re hunting the sharpest Statutory Accountant in retail who can balance more than just books.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a fast-paced, high-growth leader in the retail sector—driven by numbers, powered by people, and built on sharp financial insights. As they expand their national footprint, they’re on the hunt for a top-tier Statutory Accountant who thrives on deadlines, digs deep into detail, and brings clarity to complexity.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare statutory financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards and legal requirements.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including corporate tax, VAT, and other statutory filings.
Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and address audit queries.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
Monitor changes in financial legislation and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
Support internal reporting requirements and provide financial data for decision-making.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of statutory reports.
Assist with internal controls and ensure financial processes align with corporate policies.

Experience and Skills Required

Qualified CA(SA)
1 year post-articles experience
Very strong academics (First Attempt Board Passes) + Distinctions
Analytical thinker with attention to detail and business acumen
Industry experience in retail is ideal, but we're open to sharp candidates from other sectors
