JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client based in Athlone, Cape Town is seeking to employ a Store Accountant.

Requirements:

BCom accounting (or similar accounting qualification) with Articles.
5 years ‘s minimum working experience (post articles).
3 years experience managing staff.
Will be required to attend all stock takes on weekends (3 – 4 times a year).
5 Day Position (Monday to Friday) Store Trading Hours.
Pastel (Required) Evolution (advantageous).
Excel (Required).
Arch experience (advantageous).
Must be willing to work occasional weekends in view of month end, financial year end and stock take weekends on a Saturday and Sunday.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Full admin function including processing of cash book, journals as required.
Financial Accounting relating to both income statement and balance sheet.
Daily, weekly and monthly reporting to head office.
Meeting all deadlines as set out by head office
Review and reporting back to the executive committee on a monthly basis on store performance.
Liaise with external and internal auditors in conjunction with Regional FM and Finance GM.
Safe guarding of company assets specifically stock, assets, debtors and cash.
Ensure store compliance with agreed policies and procedures.
Review and reporting back to the executive committee on a monthly basis on store performance.
Any other duties or functions as determined by Store Manager or Head Office.
