SUMMARY:
We are a team at a multinational scaffolding company working on big projects and focusing on industrial scaffolding in Southern Africa. We are looking for a young, charismatic and enthusiastic Structural Engineer interested in temporary works
design, specifically focused on scaffolding.

POSITION INFO:
The incumbent will be part of the technical design and engineering team and will be required to perform scaffolding design calculations, structural steel designs of scaffolding components and computer analysis of scaffolding structures. This Engineer will also need to travel to site as required to assist clients with designs, on-site technical assistance during the erection of structures, and training.

The sales team will request assistance with detailed explanations of technical information to clients, understanding the cost sensitivity of designs, and the ethical balance of income generation vs. giving the client the best offer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be required to use AutoCAD for 3D modelling and drafting. They will be expected to assist the sales team and technical design team with creating 3D models of existing structures, modelling the scaffolding structure, checking the stability and strength of the scaffolding structure and issuing drawings to the sales and technical teams. This position requires knowledge of and preferably experience in structures and structural analysis.

Minimum Qualifications and Work Experience:

BTech/BEng/BSc of Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
2–5 years of experience
Proficient in CAD design software (preferably AutoCAD from Autodesk)
Strong technical understanding of steel structures
Good verbal and written communication skills
