Structural Draughts Person

SUMMARY:
A leading Consulting Engineering firm is seeking an experienced Structural Draughts Person/Detailer. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong rebar detailing and scheduling expertise to contribute to a variety of structural engineering projects.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Produce rebar layouts and schedules for reinforced concrete structural elements. Collaborate closely with engineers and design teams throughout project execution. Produce accurate rebar layouts and schedules from design information and engineering drawings. Prepare 2D and 3D reinforcement models and layouts using Revit, AutoCAD, and specialised rebar detailing software. Perform material take-offs and estimate reinforcing steel quantities. Review rebar layouts and schedules to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards. Ensure project deadlines are achieved while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (relevant draughting or engineering qualification will be advantageous). Minimum 2+ years of experience in a similar role within a consulting and structural engineering environment. Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential . Experience using Probar and\/or Padds rebar scheduling software. Working knowledge of SANS 282 Rebar Scheduling Code . Experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System . Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Strong organisational and time management abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to produce accurate work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. Valid driver's license essential. Willing, and medically fit, to travel and work on construction sites as may be required. Own vehicle will be advantageous. Key Competencies High attention to detail and accuracy.
