Are you ready to engineer impactful solutions and be part of multi-disciplinary, high-profile industrial projects? We’re looking for a skilled Structural Engineer to join a dynamic, forward-thinking team that delivers world-class engineering services across Southern Africa and beyond. As a Structural Engineer, you will work closely with the Divisional Manager in the Sugar & Industrial division, contributing to the design and delivery of innovative structural and civil solutions in sectors such as heavy industry, ports, and commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and specification of concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
- Foundation design for industrial structures and equipment.
- Structural steel connection design and shop drawing review.
- Concrete rebar detailing and checking.
- Conduct condition assessments and prepare technical reports.
- Develop specifications, BOQs, and tender documents.
- Participate in feasibility studies, plant layouts, and cost optioneering.
- Engage with clients and contribute to marketing and proposal development.
- Coordinate with internal and external technical teams.
- Perform site inspections and ensure ISO 9001:2015 QMS compliance.
- Support internal tools and standards improvement initiatives.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Education: BSc / BEng (Civil) or BTech (Structures)
- Experience: 10+ years in structural engineering across multi-disciplinary projects
- Registration: ECSA registered (PrEng or PrTech)
- Strong background in industrial engineering sectors (e.g. sugar, paper, ports)
- Experience in consulting engineering and commercial buildings
- Proficient in Prokon, Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (rebar detailing software is a plus)
- Solid understanding of engineering workflows, interdisciplinary coordination, and applicable codes/standards
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required
