Structural Engineer

SUMMARY:
A leading Consulting Engineering firm is seeking a professionally registered Structural Engineer (ECSA Pr. Eng), or a Candidate Engineer close to professional registration, to join its Cape Town team ASAP.
The successful candidate will manage structural engineering projects, oversee and participate in the design of reinforced concrete and structural steel structures, and provide technical leadership and guidance within a dynamic engineering environment.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Independently manage multiple projects, ensuring project objectives are achieved. Liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction. Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, calculations, and engineering documentation. Lead and manage structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with quality standards, project specifications, budgets, and timelines. Execute conceptual designs, contribute to feasibility studies, and develop optimised and value-engineered structural solutions. Provide technical and design leadership on a variety of structural engineering projects. Utilise advanced proficiency in Prokon, Revit, AutoCAD , and other relevant engineering software to deliver engineering solutions. Perform structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete, structural steel, and load-bearing structures. Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to their technical development and professional growth. Conduct site inspections and attend project and client meetings as required. Travel to project sites and client locations when necessary. Requirements: ✔ BEng\/BSc Civil Engineering ✔ ECSA Professional Registration (Pr. Eng), or Candidate close to professional registration ✔ Minimum 3-5+ years' structural engineering experience ✔ Experience with concrete, steel, and multi-storey commercial structures ✔ Sound proficiency in Prokon and finite element analysis software ✔ Strong knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD ✔ Strong project management, time management, leadership, and client relationship skills - excellent communication skills and a Team Player ✔ Valid driver's license and own vehicle This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected engineering practice and work on challenging, large-scale projects. Remuneration Market related salary is negotiable monthly between R40,000 to R95,000 pm (depending on qualifications, ECSA registration status and experience).
