JOB SUMMARY:
Join our very large, well established concern, based in Stellenbosch to take on the challenge of a Tax and Treasury Accountant. The purpose of the role is to provide financial support to the business within the statutory accounting, treasury and tax department.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The purpose of the role is to provide financial support to the business within the statutory accounting, treasury and tax department. The end result is to drive the business objectives while supporting accurate and timeous financial reporting and financial governance.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

BComm Honours or similar
At least 1 to 2 years post qualification experience in a financial function, preferably in a corporate environment within FMCG or manufacturing.
A resilient individual with excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills (English & Afrikaans)
Result driven, business acumen and good decision-making as well as strong leadership skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Advanced MS Office Skills (Excel & PowerPoint)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Treasury

Cash forecasting and reporting
Daily/Monthly Diapason reporting
Maintenance of bank account profiles
Monthly bank account summaries
Management of cheque signatories, credit card process and petty cash

Taxation

Vat return preparation and reconciliation. Management of the vat audit process and follow up on issues identified
Sugar Beverage Levy return preparation and refund process management, reconciliation, and management of the submission process to SARS. Ensure payments are made timeously.
Carbon tax calculation and submission of returns
Involvement in the income tax preparation process
IT14SD preparation including reconciliation of exports, and import related information

Reporting

Intercompany reconciliations, monthly reporting, and confirmations
Sundry invoicing – divisional and across ROA
Assist with the AFS preparation
Involvement in interim and final external audit process

Other

Assist with BBBEE process
Management of SARB queries
STATSSAA: Provision of data for manufacturing large sample survey, quality improvement survey, annual financial statistics survey, and quarterly statistics survey
