TECHNICAL PURCHASING MANAGER (Automotive) – Pretoria

National Manufacturing Company is urgently looking for an experienced Technical Purchasing Manager from the automotive component manufacturing industry. Qualifications & Experience

• Must have Grade 12 / Matric with 65% or more in English and Mathematics (HG) as pre-requisite to application.
• Degree / Diploma in Purchasing.
• 5 years’ experience in a Purchasing and Procurement Management environment within the Automotive Component Manufacturing industry.
• Strong technical background essential.
• Read and understand technical drawings.
• Sound knowledge of MRP Systems + SAP - essential.

Duties

• Manage and oversee all procurement processes including the implementation of service level agreements.
• Develop and refine procurement guidelines to ensure that the company got the best price
• Trained and mentored divisional staff on procurement
• Responsible for the smooth functioning of all procurement systems.
• Establish and manage the tender process, monitored agreements and contracts
• Conducted supplier analysis, evaluate potential suppliers, and managed the overall supplier qualification process.
• Supplier relationship management and development.
• Ensured BBBEE compliances were in line with the procurement strategies.
• Sourcing of new product development parts.
• Managing cost savings initiatives via purchasing model.
• Handling price negotiations with suppliers based on suppliers price increases.
• Ensuring that optimum levels of stock inventory are maintained.
