Job Description

Our client has an opportunity for an experienced applicant to join their team in the capacity of a Logistics Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following:

Lead and manage customer care functions to provide industry leading levels of performance and service toward customers.
Inventory Management – responsible and accountable for stock under their control – e.g. mitigating and pro-active measures like security, cycle counts and other related good inventory practices.
Oversee all routine logistics activities nationwide.
Negotiating transport rates and arrangements nationwide
Actively assist with executing stocktakes and reconciliations, including pro-active management of consignment stock
Legal compliance including but not limited to Dangerous goods storage and transport regulations
Lead and drive logistics strategy and planning
Identify and track key KPIs to drive performance and meet any group requirements
Other related duties

Qualifications

Matriculation
Degree in Agriculture or Logistics

Skills

Minimum 10 years in an operational logistics management role in South African Agriculture
Proven ability to liaise and negotiate with suppliers
Proven strong leadership and management capability
ERP system operational experience
Ability to prioritise responsibility under pressure
