SUMMARY:
Deliver professional and quality geotechnical and tailings service for a leading multinational consulting engineering firm.
POSITION INFO:
Provide tailings services and technical advice for moderate to complex tailings issues for various clients in the Mining industry
Provide geotechnical services to the mine waste unit including geotechnical modeling, analyses and design, geotechnical investigations and liaising with external laboratories
Provide safety leadership in health and safety (HSSE incident report)
Planning, scheduling and coordinating manpower on projects
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 4 years post grad experience in the area of tailings and geotechnical engineering
Knowledge of legislation surrounding engineering design supporting water use and waste management license applications
Financial knowledge (Work in progress, accounts receivable and DSO’s)
Proficient in Slope stability, seepage analysis and FEM software (Geostudio, Slide and Plaxis)
Proficiency in other engineering related software will be considered beneficial
Proven skills/ experience to lead integrated project mine waste projects coupled with sound project management skills
Qualification:
BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering
Honours degree in the geotechnical field (Preferred)
PR registered with ECSA (Preferred)
