Tax & Treasury Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client operating within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry is currently searching for an experienced individual to fill the Tax & Treasury Manager vacancy within their Johannesburg North based Finance team. This position is ideal for a qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA) with at least 5 years’ experience from a similar industry. If you are the ideal candidate, please apply!

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Charted Accountant CA(SA) designation and/or eligibility
• Minimum 5 years’ previous working experience within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry
• Previous working experience involving team management within a similar senior Tax & Treasury Manager position
• Advanced SAP software skills are advantageous

Job description & Skills:

• Overseeing all tax compliance responsibilities for the entire company involving the identification and management of tax risks
• Developing, implementing, and maintain the best practice policies that ensure compliance with the company tax strategy and tax control framework, company rules, and code of conduct
• Developing the local transfer pricing documentation in consultation with Global Tax
• Maintaining the Tax, Treasury, and Insurance balances in the General Ledger (GL)
• Overseeing the implementation of tax law changes while updating policies and procedures
• Conducting routine tax calculations and/or reconciliations for Corporate Income Tax Returns (IT14), Deferred Tax, and Provisional Tax
• Liaising with various service providers within the African subsidiaries to ensure tax compliance in the relevant foreign jurisdictions
• Establish and implement transfer pricing policies to ensure that profits accurately represent the economic value of origin
• Assisting with technical Tax and/or VAT queries and produce reports on group tax budgets and expenditures
• Ensure that disputes and/or queries involving the South African Revenue Service (SARS) are resolved
• Assisting with audits and resolving ad hoc queries from management, shareholders, and relevant authorities
• Facilitating staff training and development while maintaining an environment that promotes improved efficiencies, best practices, innovation, and employee excellence
