POSITION INFO:

Our client, in the financial sector and based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ an experienced Tax Director to their dynamic team.

Main purpose of the position:

• Overall responsibility for compliance of Tax Dept. Consulting directly with clients and assisting partners with queries.

Â

Responsibilities:

Consulting:

• Assisting clients, partners and staff with tax related issues
• Dealing with complex tax queries from SARS
• Liaising with senior SARS officials
• Dispute resolution process with SARS (Objection/Appeal process)
• Assist with national Tax booklet
• Attend national Tax Partners meetings
• Brief attorneys/advocates when tax dispute reaches court level
• Keep up to date with Tax knowledge

Administration/Compliance:

• Overall responsibility for Tax compliance dept
• Staff Recruitment, Retention, Training and Development
• Commissioner of Oaths

Qualifications/ Experience/ Skills:

• B Comm/H Dip Tax
• Specialist experience of Tax and relevant Legislation
• 8 - 10 years plus Specialist Tax experience
• Ability to deal with SARS at a senior level
• Management experience
• Microsoft Office
• Finsolve Tax Planner
• Accfin
• Electronic Tax Library - Butterworths
