Tax Manager/Specialist

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Manager or Tax Specialist to join our dynamic accounting firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing tax compliance, consulting, and planning services for a variety of clients. This role involves direct client interaction, team leadership, and ensuring that tax engagements are delivered efficiently and accurately, in line with all relevant laws and regulations.

POSITION INFO:
Description:

• Manage and review the preparation of individual, corporate, trust, and partnership tax returns.
• Provide expert tax advice to clients on various matters including income tax, VAT, PAYE, and capital gains.
• Handle tax planning for clients to minimize tax liabilities.
• Oversee SARS audits, disputes, and correspondence on behalf of clients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and international tax legislation.
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and present effective solutions to clients.
• Assist with internal process improvement and automation related to tax engagements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field (essential).
• SAICA/SAIPA/SAIT qualification (preferred).
• Registered Tax Practitioner (essential).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a tax role within an accounting or audit firm.
• Strong working knowledge of SARS systems (eFiling, EasyFile, etc.).
• Experience with tax software and accounting packages (e.g., CaseWare, Draftworx, Sage, Pastel).
• In-depth knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations.
