SUMMARY:
Background:

Listed international manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Tax Specialist to join their Finance team

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

BCom in Accounting / Taxation (or equivalent)
Postgraduate qualification in Tax (advantageous)
5+ years’ experience in a Tax-focused role, preferably within manufacturing or a similar industrial environment
Strong knowledge of South African Tax Legislation
Experience dealing directly with SARS
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee all direct and indirect tax matters (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, Withholding Taxes)
Tax exposure within diversed Africa countries
Ensure compliance with SARS regulations and relevant tax legislation
Prepare and review tax computations, returns, and reconciliations
Handle SARS audits, queries, and disputes
Provide tax input on business transactions, projects, and structuring
Identify tax risks and implement mitigation strategies
Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and assess business impact
Support month-end and year-end reporting from a tax perspective
