POSITION INFO:
If tax structuring, technical opinions and complex advisory work are what keep you interested, this role will feel like home.
We’re looking for a senior corporate tax specialist from a consulting or advisory environment who enjoys solving complex tax problems and working directly with clients.

This is not a corporate in-house role and it is not a compliance-heavy position. It’s a highly technical advisory environment where your thinking, judgement and technical depth will be used daily.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership advising a portfolio of medium to large clients on complex corporate tax matters including structuring, transactions, international tax considerations and tax risk.

This is a lean team, so we are looking for someone who is technically strong, commercially aware and still enjoys being in the detail. Someone who writes strong opinions, asks the right questions and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get the work done.

What you’ll be doing
- Providing corporate tax consulting and advisory services to a portfolio of clients
- Drafting technical tax opinions, advisory papers and reports
- Interpreting and applying tax legislation to complex commercial transactions
- Managing advisory engagements from start to finish
- Reviewing work and mentoring junior team members
- Engaging directly with clients on complex tax matters

Minimum requirements
- CA(SA) or Attorney (LLB)
- HDip Tax or MCom in Tax
- Strong background in a tax consulting / advisory environment
- Deep technical corporate tax knowledge
- Experience with opinion writing, structuring, due diligence and advisory work
