SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technical Accountant to join a dynamic insurance business in Johannesburg. This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly specialised environment, ensuring the integrity, compliance, and accuracy of financial reporting while supporting key business decisions.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements in accordance with IFRS and relevant insurance accounting standards.
Assist with technical accounting papers, policy documentation, and guidance for complex transactions.
Conduct in-depth analysis of insurance contracts and reinsurance agreements to ensure compliance with applicable accounting frameworks.
Collaborate with auditors, actuaries, and other stakeholders during audits and financial reporting cycles.
Support the implementation of accounting systems, processes, and controls for improved reporting accuracy.
Stay up to date with evolving accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment.
