JOB SUMMARY:
Do you have experience successfully managing a small manufacturing operation using your technical, mechanical and operational management expertise?
 
Our International Client is requiring a Branch Manager with professional leadership skills to manage the growth and overall stability of their highly successful and well-established operation in Cape Town.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric and relevant qualification highly advantageous
  • Technical / Mechanical experience essential, engineering expertise advantageous
  • General Management experience in an operation of approximately 40 – 50 employees in production
  • Minimum 10 years management experience providing stability to a business
  • Experience in paper / packaging highly advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Must have experience in a manufacturing / mechanical / technical environment
  • Technical ability to advise on problems with technical machinery
  • Ability to manage different personalities of staff to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to balance and mediate between production and sales

DUTIES

  • Overseeing and general management of the operation and team in Cape Town
  • General management of the operation and providing advisory service to the team
  • Directly responsible for the success and profit generated for the Cape Town operation
  • Efficient monitoring of production through research and development and cost saving initiatives to ensure targets are achieved
  • Maintenance, support and growth of all clients overseeing quotes, orders and after sales support
  • Maintain a stable, enjoyable working environment for all through good work ethic and understanding the company values and structures already in place.
  • Providing technical assistance to the sales team where necessary.
  • Sourcing of new customers and income streams using all sales and marketing structures available.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met and the company is producing products as to the specification of individual clients needs
  • Working in hand-in-hand with HR service provider to ensure all individuals operate in accordance with labour laws and that fair and justified stability is maintained amongst all employees
  • Working with the Production Manager to ensure that all maintenance is carried out timeously and through scheduled, planned maintenance.
  • Overseeing stock control and production scheduling where needed
  • Ensure that all machines are operating at highest possibly capacities during working hours
  • Assistance, where necessary, in the speedy repairs in the event of breakdowns
  • Problem solve and assist in actual maintenance where deemed necessary
  • Overseeing monthly figures generated though stock takes provided by the Production Manager, managing reports accurately to be reported to the Director
