SUMMARY:
Machineshop Technical Estimator

Area: Wadeville

POSITION INFO:
Requirements

Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs
Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, subcontractors, and equipment
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
Compile professional quotation documents for clients
Assist with tenders, project proposals, and costing breakdowns
Work closely with HODs
Identify cost-saving opportunities and help optimise processes
Maintain and update pricing databases and cost records
Communicate with clients to clarify technical requirements when necessary
Experience in fabrication, manufacturing

Minimum Requirements

+- 10 years experience in estimating, costing, or a similar technical role
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
Strong numerical, analytical, and problemâsolving skills
Proficiency in computer skills (Excel essential)
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
High attention to detail
Understanding of production processes and workflows
Strong supplier management skills
