SUMMARY:
A well-established company within the lighting industry is looking for a Technical External Sales Engineer to join their team in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing client relationships and growing sales within the industrial, mining, engineering and contractor sectors.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients Identify and secure new business opportunities Conduct external sales visits, client meetings and product presentations Promote and sell lighting products and technical solutions Engage with engineers, mining personnel, contractors and industrial clients Generate new business through cold calling and market development Prepare and follow up on quotations and proposals Provide customers with guidance on suitable lighting solutions Meet and exceed agreed sales targets Maintain accurate daily call reports on the company CRM system Attend product training, trade shows and exhibitions when required Plan and manage daily sales activities independently Minimum Requirements Previous external sales experience, preferably within the lighting, electrical, technical or engineering environment Good understanding of lighting products and applications Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to engage professionally with engineers, mining personnel, contractors and industrial clients Self-motivated and able to work independently Good planning and organisational skills Proven ability to develop new business and close sales Target-driven with a strong commercial mindset Basic computer literacy Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle Professional, neat and presentable Advantageous Experience with AGI32, Relux or other lighting design software Previous experience within the mining, engineering, industrial or heavy-industry sectors Technical sales experience within lighting, electrical products or related technical solutions
