Technical Manager - Dénau (Worcester)

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the effective establishment and maintenance of high-quality plant / crop standards and practices
• Research and provide technical advice to Production Managers and assist with implementation.
• Develop and manage all citrus / table grape irrigation and fertilization programs
• Provide specialist Horticulture services, including harvest estimates, irrigation scheduling, fertilization recommendation, ground corrections, harvest manipulations and data collection
• Provide specialist Entomology services, including MRL management, spray program recommendation & record keeping, scout management, data collection and model development

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification (preferably M.Sc Horticulture or related specialist field)
• 3-5 years experience in the production of citrus and/or table grapes will be beneficial
• Professional knowledge of irrigation, fertilisation, manipulation and pest control practices (experience in ultra-low flow irrigation will be beneficial)
• Above average computer & technical skill with in-depth knowledge of modern agricultural technology
• Energetic, hardworking, self-driven individual with a passion for the technical aspects of agriculture
• Ability to function under pressure and apply rational decision-making
• Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal relationships and above average communication skills at all levels
