Technical Manager / IFRS Manager, Pretoria – R 850 000 CTC

SUMMARY:
International auditing & advisory firm with offices based in Pretoria is on the look out for a Technical Manager / Specialist to oversee IFRS with regard to Risk & Quality

POSITION INFO:

The role will see you upholding quality standards & ensure effective risk management. You will provide support services to directors & staff as well as clients of the firm. Ensuring that support is provided in time & within expected time limits, through effective & efficient people & other resources management

Minimum requirements:

Essential:

• Chartered Accountant (SA) / CA(SA)
• 3  years’ experience working experience in a similar type of industry
• Demonstrate strong technical knowledge
• Keep abreast of technical updates & legislation changes

Advantageous:

• Experience in project management with exposure to plastic conversion equipment and/or hydraulics & electrical componentry

Duties & responsibilities:

Consultation & support services:

• Provide technical opinions on accounting matters
• Provide guidance on the application of Companies Act legislation
• Perform technical reviews on Annual Financial Statements
• Perform research on topical accounting & auditing matters

Quality Control:

• Perform engagement quality control reviews
• Perform internal quality monitoring reviews
• Review appropriateness of audit opinions
• Review compliance with auditing standards

 Training:

• Develop training courses / workshop sessions
• Present training to staff
• Mark simulation tests completed by trainees

Shared services with W Consulting:

• Liaise with IFRS advisors on matters related to listed clients
• Obtain second opinions on technical matters

Audit Methodology:

• Develop & update working paper templates
• Develop & update compliance checklists
• Develop & update internal manuals & guides
• Development of accounting & legislative application guides

Communications:

• Compile monthly technical newsletter
• Research topical issues for inclusion in technical directives
• Write-up of technical proposals
• Write-up of articles as required
