Technical Marketing Manager Biologicals

SUMMARY:

An established manufacturer of agrochemicals is seeking the above to identify new in-house product development opportunities and to develop marketing strategies on existing products, driving the sales strategy with the Biological Specialists and quality management & maintenance of the cultivated products at the plant.
 

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a relevant tertiary qualification in a science field
• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in the agricultural chemical industry is essential
• Practical experience in soil microbials and micro-organisms will be required
• Must be computer literate in MS Office and statistical programme for Laboratories
• Must have a valid driver’s license, own reliable transport and be medically fit to drive

• Managing and engaging with the Biological team to maintain viable mother cultures of mycorrhizae and Trichoderma.
• Engaging with the Laboratory Technical Team on Mycorrhizal root staining interpretation of reports.
• Keeping track of records of associated costs to be redeemed and reporting back to key stakeholders.
• Driving sales strategy alongside key stakeholders, i.e. Regional Managers, Agents, Technical Advisors and Agronomists.
• Assisting with the design and management of product presentations (packaging, etc).
• Providing inputs with the write up of registration trial protocols (DAFF acceptable standard) for new and existing products.
• Engaging with the R&D team responsible to initiate trials needed to support the registration dossier.
• Engaging with the trial maintenance team to ensure the correct use of fertilizer, herbicides, insecticides and fungicides for biological trials.
• Managing the collection of data into summary reports in line with Laboratory specifications.
• Identifying new actives, products and co-workers to complete the biological portfolio.
• Negotiating terms and conditions with technological partners of biological portfolios.
• Researching and conducting potential market analysis to calculate ROI.
• Engaging with the R&D team responsible to initiate trials needed to support the new claims for existing products.
• Generating marketing material as well as registration dossiers.
• Organising the Biological Specialists, capturing and maintaining data and co-ordinating the write up of demo trials for marketing materials.
• Driving new innovative projects to ease application of products in the field and to support the penetration into new markets.
• Ensuring the organisation of Farmers Days and Agent visit trials for good company field presentation.
• Regularly present feedback at Area meetings.
• Providing support to the Biological Specialists to deliver good company presentations in the field.
• Engaging in the management of the seed treatment machines.
• Reviewing trial reports.
• Addressing customer complaints that may lead to a claim.
• Managing the process of product shelf-life testing, Mycorrhizae root colonisation analysis and soil health testing.
• Planning, organising and executing Biological Specialist roadshows per area.
• Integrate and support the Biological Specialist to align goals.
• Supporting the physical sale of products.
• Providing input on new budget planning and product costing with the Financial team.
• Supporting the logistical positioning of products and written off stock.
• Assisting with the maintenance of the SHEQ Management Systems certifications/standards, ensuring adherence to all SHEQ rules and regulations as per company policy.
